Terms of Service

Last Updated: November 13, 2025

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are a legal agreement between you and WebSocks ("WebSocks," "we," "us," or "our") and govern your access to and use of:

  • our website(s) and web applications (collectively, the "Site"), and
  • all related products and services, including our webhook-to-websocket relay platform, dashboards, APIs, SDKs, documentation and any other tools we make available (collectively, the "Services").

By clicking "I Agree," creating an account, or accessing or using the Services, you agree that:

  • You have read, understand, and agree to be bound by these Terms;
  • You are at least the age of majority in your jurisdiction; and
  • If you are using the Services on behalf of an organization, you have authority to bind that organization and "you" refers to that organization.

If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

1. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated Terms on the Site and change the "Last Updated" date above. If we make material changes, we may also notify you by email or through the Services.

Unless otherwise stated, changes become effective 30 days after posting. Your continued use of the Services after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Services.

2. Description of the Services

WebSocks is a lightweight, usage-based utility that:

  • accepts HTTP webhook requests from your systems or third-party providers,
  • optionally displays those incoming payloads in a log/console view, and
  • forwards those payloads to a user-configured WebSocket endpoint (the "Relay").

The Services may include:

  • a web dashboard for configuring webhook endpoints and WebSocket destinations;
  • an event log to view recent webhook payloads;
  • usage tracking and quota enforcement; and
  • related APIs, libraries, documentation and support resources.

We may modify, add, or remove features at any time. We will not materially reduce the core functionality of a paid plan during a billing period without reasonable notice.

3. Accounts and Eligibility

3.1 Registration

To use most features of the Services, you must create an account (an "Account") and provide accurate, current, and complete information. You agree to keep your Account information up to date.

You are responsible for:

  • maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials; and
  • all activities that occur under your Account.

Notify us immediately at support@websocks.io if you suspect any unauthorized access or use of your Account. We are not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your credentials.

3.2 Third-Party Logins

If we allow login via a third-party identity provider (e.g., GitHub, Google), you authorize us to receive account information (such as your email address) from that provider in accordance with their terms and your privacy settings with them.

4. Usage-Based Billing, Free Tier & Quotas

4.1 Free Tier

WebSocks offers a free usage tier:

  • First 1,000 webhook requests per Account are free.
  • No credit card is required to use the free tier.
  • We may update free-tier limits from time to time, but will not retroactively charge you for usage that occurred under a previous free allowance.

4.2 Paid Usage

Beyond the free tier, we currently charge:

  • $0.0001 USD per webhook request successfully received by our platform (or such other rate as shown in the pricing page at the time of usage).
  • We may use a minimum billing increment, monthly aggregation, or other reasonable billing practices, which we will describe on the Site.

4.3 Quota Enforcement

You acknowledge and agree that:

When your usage exceeds your free tier and you have not set up valid payment information or a valid paid plan, WebSocks may stop accepting or processing further webhook requests, returning an HTTP error (for example, 402 Payment Required) and/or a JSON body such as:

{"error": "quota_exceeded"}

We may also throttle or reject traffic when you exceed limits included in your plan, or where your use threatens the stability or security of the Services.

4.4 Payment; Taxes

If you choose a paid plan or exceed free limits:

  • You authorize us (or our payment processor) to charge your payment method for all applicable fees, including recurring fees (if any).
  • Fees are generally non-refundable unless required by law or explicitly stated otherwise.
  • Fees are exclusive of any applicable taxes. You are responsible for all sales, use, value-added or similar taxes, except those based on our net income.
  • If a payment fails, we may suspend or terminate your access to the Services, including your endpoints, until payment is successfully processed.

5. License and Ownership

As between you and WebSocks, we and our licensors own and retain all rights, title and interest in and to the Services, including all related intellectual property. Except for the limited rights expressly granted to you in these Terms, no rights are granted to you by implication or otherwise.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Services in any way that violates applicable law, sends spam or malware, attempts to circumvent security measures, resells the Services without consent, or interferes with others' use of the Services.

7. Disclaimers

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WEBSOCKS DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

8. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WEBSOCKS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID IN THE LAST 12 MONTHS OR $100 USD.
